Our School

Principal Peter Kyles

It is with great sadness that we share the news that our much-loved and respected Principal, Peter Kyles, has sadly died after a short illness.

As many of you know, Peter has been the heart of St Mary’s for so many years. The whole school emanates his warmth, his dedication and his passion for teaching and learning and his presence will be sorely missed by all our pupils, staff, families and the wider Dilwyn community. Our wonderful school, that he helped create 15 years ago is a lasting testament to his commitment and vision, and this part of his legacy will continue to live on in the children and families that he has inspired over generations.

Our thoughts and prayers are very much with Sally, Peter’s family and all those who knew and loved him.

As our pupils, staff, families, Governors and Members come to terms with this sad news, and as we put into place an interim leadership plan, we ask for your patience and kindness. We shall update our school community in due course. In the meantime St Mary’s will continue Peter’s legacy of nurturing every child to fulfil their potential, to continue to be ambitious in education and of course we will achieve this by “living, loving & learning together.”
